Big project for the year. About 385 panes of remove old failed film and replace with new. Still ongoing, project is being completed in phases. New film is cooling building 6 degrees more than old film, looks better and updates the look of the building.
Madison office remodel. Office is in a central open concept area but needed privacy. Stripes match other film work throughout floor to have a unified consistent look.
A custom printed film with school initials and mascot was applied to the corner glass of the new Auburn Field-house in Rockford, IL. The school provided the artwork, which was forwarded to GLF printing partner and the proof was approved by the design/construction team. Once approved the custom printed film was installed about 2 weeks later.
Great Lakes Film and Shade was contracted to apply custom cut decorative film to a Madison area clinic under renovation. The architect/interior designer provided a design that was cut on Frosted Crystal to match existing film in other parts of the building. Over the course of a couple days the material was applied to two nurses stations and most of the new doors in the space. The use of decorative film on clear glass added visual interest and a consistent look throughout the building while providing privacy for staff and patients.
This Great Lakes Film & Shade customer needed to control heat and glare issues on the West side of their office. Existing blinds and glass with tint in it just wasn’t doing the job. After presenting options to the contact, LLumar DR15 window film was selected for it’s glare and heat reduction performance. The customer was surprised by how natural it looked due to the low interior reflectance and how the film enhanced the tint of the glass.
An East facing home office window was allowing a morning heat build up that prevented the homeowner from using the space. After window film was suggested by a family friend, Great Lakes Film & Shade was contacted for an estimate. Window film (45%) was applied to the office and sitting room arch windows to improve comfort and reduce fading while allowing a view out and not changing the look of the home. The homeowner can now use the home office before 1:00 PM.
The photos below are of a Mequon WI home window tinting project. They had a painting that faded which brought their attention to fading from UV light. A 45% window film was applied that reduced UV by 99.9%. Heat gain and sun glare were dramatically reduced.

Local fire department chief needed to address privacy issues for his office while maintaining his view to the garage bays. Sample one way mirror film was applied however a more custom look was desired. Working with a graphic designer, Great Lakes was able come up with a custom printed logo on perforated film that achieved the desired look and performance.
Beloit commercial office customer asked if Great Lakes Film could apply new door lettering and logo after they moved to a new larger location. With a provided artwork file Great Lakes was able to have the lettering and logo cut out of white vinyl material to match the other offices in the building. Once approved the lettering was installed within five days.
